Disclosure
This site is owned by Runway Reserves, a reserve study company that competes with every firm listed here. It isn't an independent review site.
What we get out of it
We hope people who find this site will also consider us. It links to our website and tells readers who we are. That's the commercial reason it exists.
What we've committed to
- We rank ourselves by the same rules. Runway Reserves ranks 3rd of 13. We show how we scored ourselves, including the three choices that help us.
- We rank first on published pricing, and we say so. We were the only firm we reviewed with a published price list by community size, site visit included. We chose that category, and it doesn't show that we cost least or do better work.
- No firm pays us. No listed firm paid to appear or to change its position, and we earn no referral fees from any of them.
- The rules are public. Every score follows the published point rules, with links to the pages we read.
- We say when we change them. If we change the criteria or weights, we'll say so on this page, with the date.
About Runway Reserves
We're a new firm, and we hold no RS, PRA or PE credential. A board may prefer or be required to use a credentialed provider, and many of the firms listed here show those credentials.
Corrections
If you work for a listed firm or spot a mistake, send us a message with "Rankings correction" and a link to the public page that shows the right fact. We'll check it and update the entry. A firm can also ask us to add a fact it has newly published, such as a sample report or team page, or send a stated turnaround or dated delivery records for the speed score. The scores change only through the published rules.
Change log
November 1, 2026: first version. Before publishing, we raised pricing from 5 to 20 of the 100 points and scaled the other categories down to fit. That moved Runway Reserves from a tie for 10th to 6th. We then added speed, worth 10 points for documented delivery times, and scaled the other categories down to 90. No firm has a qualifying record yet, so no firm has speed points, and Runway Reserves stayed 6th.
November 5, 2026: we changed the weights and the speed rule. Credentials fell from 29 to 15 points. Track record rose from 18 to 20, transparency from 18 to 20, pricing from 18 to 22 and speed from 10 to 16. Speed now scores each firm's stated standard turnaround, and firms that state none get 0. Before, it counted documented delivery only. These changes moved Runway Reserves from 6th with 39 points to 3rd with 60, mostly through its one-week promise and its published prices. Reserve Advisors moved to sole first, and Browning Reserve Group fell from 4th to 6th.
November 5, 2026, later: a person named with an RS, PRA or PE as the signer of a firm's public sample report now counts toward credentials, as well as people shown on its site. An unnamed designation doesn't count. We checked every scored firm's sample report, and no score changed. Runway Reserves' sample is now signed by an experienced reviewer who holds no designation, so its credential score stays 0.
